Allie brings 20 years of special education experience and is bilingual in Spanish. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Sacred Heart University and an M.S.E. from Fairfield University. At DES, she supports students with executive functioning and also provides targeted academic instruction in Spanish, History, and English. Her engaging personality and parenting experience make her especially effective at connecting with students.
Lindsey is dual-certified in special education and social studies. With 16 years in education, including administration and classroom teaching, she specializes in helping students understand how their behaviors affect academic outcomes. Lindsey is especially skilled at supporting executive functioning for students in middle and high school.
Rene holds a Master’s in Education and works 1:1 with neurodiverse students. She is trained in interpreting neuropsychological evaluations and uses her knowledge to help students improve reading comprehension, writing, and executive functioning. Based in Fairfield County, she brings warmth and structure to every session.
Maureen is a veteran math educator with 27 years of classroom experience. She specializes in Algebra, Algebra 2, Calculus, and AP Calculus (AB and BC). Lois holds advanced degrees in education and over 30 years of teaching experience. She is certified in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, and PAF methodologies and uses these multisensory approaches to support reading development. Michelle holds a Master’s in Special Education and a B.S. in Childhood Education. BJ holds degrees from Vassar, Syracuse, and Harvard, with over 20 years in special education. He tutors Algebra, Algebra 2, Calculus, and AP Calculus, and prepares students for standardized tests including the ACT, SAT, and ISEE. BJ combines his academic rigor with a personable, student-centered coaching approach.
Ben graduated Cum Laude from Kenyon College with a degree in Neuroscience and Law. He tutors all levels of math and science, including college-level coursework. Ben also prepares students for ACT, SAT, and ISEE exams. His background in brain-based learning makes him uniquely effective with high-achieving and neurodiverse students alike.
Kelly has over 25 years of classroom experience and specializes in coaching executive functioning, particularly in younger students. She also provides test preparation for the ISEE and SSAT, using metacognitive strategies to help students understand how they learn best.
Jackie holds certifications in Childhood Education, Special Education, and TESOL. She is trained in Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, and PAF and is especially strong in ISEE and SSAT test preparation. Jackie also supports literacy development and executive functioning with a warm, student-centered approach.
Kyla is an English educator who specializes in AP Language and AP Literature. She also supports students with executive functioning, writing development, and reading comprehension. Trained in Orton-Gillingham, PAF, and Wilson, she blends structure with creativity in her sessions.
Al holds degrees from Fordham, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton). With a professional background in science and business, Al tutors all levels of math and science, including AP and college courses. He also prepares students for the ACT, SAT, and ISEE.
