Helping Bright Students Become More Organized and Independent
If you're reminding your child about the same assignment for the third night in a row, you already know the problem isn't intelligence. Westchester is full of bright, capable students who lose points to missing work, disorganized binders, and last-minute panic, not because they don't care, but because no one has explicitly taught them the skills that school quietly assumes: planning, prioritizing, starting, and following through.
Diversified Education Services provides one-on-one executive function coaching throughout Westchester County, in your home. Our coaches hold special education certifications and advanced degrees, and many are practicing educators who understand exactly what local schools expect. We've been doing this work since 2009, and our office in Cos Cob sits minutes from the Westchester line, which is why families in Rye, Rye Brook, and Harrison have been part of our practice from the beginning.

Who We Work With in Westchester
Students in grades 1–12 who struggle with organization, time management, task initiation, homework completion, or test preparation, including students with ADHD, diagnosed executive function challenges, and students with no diagnosis who are simply working harder than their results show. Our ADHD coaching meets younger students where they are and grows with them as school demands increase.
Neurodiverse learners who need structured, individualized support. Our coaches' special education backgrounds mean we work comfortably with students who have ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, slow processing speed, and language-based learning differences, and with the IEPs and 504 plans that come with them.
College students home for breaks or studying locally who need systems for managing coursework independently.
Adults and professionals working on productivity, organization, follow-through, and ADHD-related challenges at work and at home. Learn more on our Adult Executive Function Coaching page.
What In-Home Coaching Actually Looks Like
We coach where the work happens. Sessions take place at your kitchen table or your student's desk, using their real backpack, their real planner, and this week's actual assignments, not hypothetical exercises in a learning center. This approach, sometimes called functional academics, means students build organization, planning, and time-management systems inside the environment where they'll use them.
A typical engagement starts with a complimentary consultation, followed by a coach match based on your student's needs, personality, and schedule. Coaches keep weekly session notes, and every coach reviews progress monthly with our founder, Aron Boxer. We are careful not to rush: the goal is not a cleaned-up binder this week, but a student who maintains their own systems long after coaching ends.
ADHD Coaching in Westchester, NY
Many students with ADHD struggle with planning, organization, attention, working memory, emotional regulation, and follow-through. These challenges often show up as inconsistent performance, forgotten assignments, rushed work, or difficulty managing multi-step tasks.
Our ADHD coaching in Westchester pairs each student with a special education–certified coach who builds realistic, individualized systems for school and daily life. Because executive function and ADHD coaching in Westchester NY overlap so heavily, most students work on both at once: the coaching targets the underlying skills—focus, task initiation, planning, and follow-through—using the student's real coursework as the practice ground. A diagnosis is helpful but not required to begin.

Why Westchester Families Choose Diversified Education Services
Certified educators, not an app-based tutor marketplace. Our coaches hold state special education certifications and master's degrees, and every one is personally matched and supervised. Many also carry Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or PAF training for students whose executive function challenges intersect with reading and writing.
We come to you. Between school, sports, and activities, Westchester schedules are unforgiving. In-home sessions remove the drive and let coaches see the real conditions a student works in.
Local since 2009. We're not a national franchise or an online marketplace. Families whose children attend schools in Rye, Scarsdale, Blind Brook, Harrison, Mamaroneck, and Bronxville districts, as well as area independent schools such as Rye Country Day, Hackley, The Masters School, and School of the Holy Child, have worked with our team for years, and we understand the pace and expectations of these academic environments.
One team for the whole picture. When a student needs subject support alongside coaching, our academic tutors handle honors, AP, and college-level content, and our reading specialists provide structured literacy and dyslexia support, coordinated within one practice.
Founded in 2009 by Aron Boxer, M.Ed., S.P.E., Diversified Education Services has helped students build the academic and executive function skills needed for long-term success. Aron has worked in special education for more than 17 years and previously served as both a special education teacher and Director of Special Services. Areas We Serve in Westchester County
Our Westchester coaches work in homes from the Sound Shore to Northern Westchester, and most of our families come to us at the same three moments: the move into middle school, the first honors or AP year, and the first semester of college. Here is where we are most often, and what we tend to see there.
Scarsdale. Students at Scarsdale Middle School and Scarsdale High School carry heavy honors loads early. We see capable students whose grades slip not because the work is hard, but because nothing is written down in one place. Scarsdale executive function coaching
White Plains. White Plains High School's size rewards students who can self-manage across many teachers and platforms. Coaching here is usually about building one weekly system that survives a busy schedule. White Plains executive function coaching
Rye and Rye Brook. Families from Rye High School, Rye Country Day, and School of the Holy Child often reach us in the transition to upper school, when long-term projects and multiple deadlines arrive at once. Rye executive function coaching
Larchmont and Mamaroneck. Mamaroneck High School students are frequently balancing athletics, arts, and a demanding course load. We focus on planning backward from due dates and starting work before the night before. Larchmont executive function coaching
New Rochelle and Pelham. We coach students at New Rochelle High School, Iona Preparatory, The Ursuline School, and Pelham Memorial High School, in person at home or virtually, with the same standing weekly session either way.
Bronxville and Riverdale. Students at Bronxville High School, Riverdale Country School, Horace Mann, and Fieldston face rigorous, writing-heavy programs. Our work there tends to center on task initiation, time estimation, and self-advocacy with teachers.
Bedford, Chappaqua, and Northern Westchester. Fox Lane and Horace Greeley families often choose a mix of in-home and virtual sessions to fit longer commutes and later practices. Bedford executive function coaching
Every Westchester student works with the same coach each week for a 60-minute session, and every plan starts with a complimentary consultation with Aron Boxer. Remote coaching is available for families outside our in-home radius or who prefer online sessions.
